Ah, another Mac song that slipped between the cracks (at least for me it did). How can someone be that talented? I mean…we are still uncovering hidden gems of his. Whether its features, unreleased tracks, or random creative projects..I know they’re out there and that gets me pretty excited.
The Internet is another group that can blend with a wide range of artists. I remember the first time I heard a song of theirs it was a collaboration with KAYTRANADA, but you also see them mixing with artists like Janelle Monae and Vic Mensa. They are quite literally a jack-of-all-trades group, putting out studio albums that consist of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, funk, and electronic. You get the slow jazz backing on this one.
I had to do some research to find out how them and Mac got linked up, and it turns out they go way back. They not only toured together in 2013, but are extremely good friends. The Internet frontrunner “Syd” recalls her best Mac memories in a recent DJBooth article. Great read…as if you couldn’t appreciate him or his legacy any more.
I may be the only one that does this, but I love to picture how people listen to certain songs. I can picture people listening to “Wanders of the Mind” while sunk into the couch on a Saturday night with a glass of $5.99 Aldi Cabernet. Enjoy!
